Who can create a channel?
- All users with the permission "Users and Teams"
To create a channel you will first need a team. When you have one there is different kinds of channel you could create.

A channel is visible for all members of the team and everyone that wasn't invited when the channel was created can join it anytime

A private channel is only visible to invited members and will not appear in any searches

A read only channel is great for minimising spam and can be used as a news channel. Only selected members can post new messages. If enabled, members that cant post can react to a message with an emoji
Create a channel

- Click besides your organisation name or clickbesides the team where you want to create the channel
- Click
- Give the channel a name
- Select which members to invite to the channel
- Click create

- Tap
- Give the channel a name
- Select which members to invite to the channel
- Tap create
Create a private channel

- Click on the button to make it private
- Click create

Create a read only channel

- Click besides your organisation name or clickbesides the team where you want to create the channel
- Click
- Give the channel a name
- Select which members to invite to the channel
- Click on the button read only
- Choose members and grant them permission to post
- Click done
- Click create

Advanced channel settings

You can use the info-field to pin information at the top of a channel. Type your message and chose to give it a color to make it stand out.

Only selected members can post new messages. If enabled, members that cant post can react to a message with an emoji.

If enabled, an event message will be posted when someone join or leave the channel. Event message is per enabled per default.

A reaction allow members to react with emojis on a message. Reactions is enabled per default.
